Our expertise in this area and close working relationship with our preferred stationery manufacturers and suppliers, ensure they understand the quality requirements of your project and we run our own risk assessments to help pre-empt any problems.
We are aware that stationery items are often purchased as gifts and they need to be made to the highest production standards and arrive in pristine condition.
Due consideration for your product is taken care of during production by our stationery manufacturers, and there are several stages of sample checking and approval to make sure everything is correct and goes to plan.
We also have our own qualified QC inspectors at our disposal for inline or pre-shipment checks.
Many specialist stationery manufacturers work with generic formats which can then be lightly customised, for example, adding your branding or corporate colours.
Imago’s approach is different – we work from a blank sheet of paper to offer you an entirely bespoke product according to your chosen format, materials and layout.
It is worth bearing in mind that minimum order quantities may sometimes apply as the product is tailored for you, typically our pricing starts at around 2000 copies.
We produce stationery products with suppliers within the EU, wider Europe, China and South East Asia. So, if, for example, producing close to home is your number one priority, we can offer you plenty of choice when it comes to manufacturing locations.
Journals and notebooks often have embellishments such as pen loops, elasticated closures, metal corners, document pockets, or decorative finishes such as gilt edging, foil blocking, and embossing. We can offer all of these and more!
Or, you may want your printed stationery product to be sold together with an accessory such as a pen or pencil. In this case, we may recommend focussing on manufacturing in China, where our dedicated sourcing team are best placed to source off-the-shelf or custom-made items and co-ordinate between the different factories involved on your project.
All our products can be made using sustainably sourced FSC™ materials to enable you to offer the consumer a product that is naturally environmentally friendly.
We can also offer recycled packaging materials such as kraft wrap to make belly bands, swing tags, and outer packaging to reduce the amount of plastic in the product.

We work with many leading gift publishers, retailers and brand owners to produce high-quality coordinated stationery and gift ranges.
Whether the designs are contemporary or traditional, we can offer a full range of bindings, materials, and finishes to suit. For the most cost-effective products, it is worth considering producing several different themed ranges simultaneously, rather than as standalone items or designs.

With this in mind, Imago has developed a suite of robust and ever-evolving ethical policies to ensure that we have an ongoing responsibility to both the environment whilst ensuring ethical work practices are adhered to throughout the supply chain.
Our Ethical Commitments
We are proud to offer you book printing services and products with the option of assured FSC™ Complete Chain of Custody and the use of our FSC™ logo, or your own if preferred. Imago became FSC™ certified in 2008 and the majority of our suppliers are also certified.
In the UK, stationery products fall under the UK Timber Regulations which are designed to prohibit the placing on the market of products made from illegally harvested timber.
We have a due diligence process in place to ensure our products are made with paper from known and legal sources. Likewise for Europe where the EU Timber Regs apply.
Applying due diligence checks to ensuring our products meet the requirements of the Lacey Act, EU and UK Timber Regulations
Imago actively researches environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic packaging, lamination and shrink-wrap
We actively encourage our suppliers to invest in new technology such as HUV printing and thermal plate setting, technologies that have been developed to have a lower carbon footprint.
Imago is able to offer access to suppliers who have achieved ISO standard ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
Achieving the standard demonstrates our suppliers’ commitment to understanding and reducing their environmental impact and to improving their performance in the areas of forest sourcing and environmental protection.
