Multi-Edition Book Printing | See the Wood from the Trees | Imago Group Case Study

Multi-Edition Book Printing for Artisan House Editions
Multi-edition book printing allows publishers to create several versions of the same title, each aimed at different audiences, price points and sales channels. That was the challenge behind See the Wood from the Trees, a beautifully produced publishing project for Artisan House Editions .
Artisan House Editions was led creatively by the late Vincent Murphy, co-owner of Books at One Letterfrack alongside his wife Mary Ruddy. Vincent brought more than 20 years of experience across design, publishing and marketing and he was widely recognised for his passion for creativity and beautifully crafted printed products. This project stands as a fitting reflection of that creative vision.
Imago Group managed the production of four distinct editions: from a standard hardback to highly crafted collector versions with cloth covers, foil blocking and bespoke presentation packaging.

The story behind the book
Written by Marion McGarry and Dermot O’Donovan, the book tells the story of trees felled in storms at Áras an Uachtaráin and later gifted by Michael D. Higgins and Sabina Higgins to students at GMIT Letterfrack.
From this gesture grew a wider story about Ireland’s landscape, creativity and craft heritage.
It was important that the finished book reflected those same values through thoughtful materials and lasting construction.
The Challenge of Multi-Edition Book Printing
Producing one excellent hardback is one thing. Producing four coordinated versions of the same title is another.
This multi-edition book printing project required consistent colour quality across editions, different cover materials and finishes, collector upgrades for premium versions, strong retail appeal for the standard edition and smooth production planning across multiple SKUs
