Understanding Toy Safety for Publishing | The Course

An introductory level toy safety course aimed at production and other publishing staff who are responsible for product safety.

The Understanding Toy Safety for Publishing course is an introductory training designed for publishing and production teams responsible for product safety, particularly within the children’s market. It provides a clear, accessible overview of toy safety legislation with no prior knowledge required, outlining compliance requirements and key obligations across the supply chain. The course also uses practical case studies to explain real-world application of the regulations.

It covers the European Toy Safety Directive in detail, including the impact of Brexit, as well as relevant US and international legislation depending on target markets. Additional focus is placed on chemical safety to help identify hidden hazards and assess risk areas. The course is delivered by Diane Greaves, an industry expert with over 25 years’ experience in children’s product safety, who brings both technical expertise and a practical, engaging approach to a complex subject.
