Premium Clothbound Book | AURORA | Imago Group

Case Study: Aurora – All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend
When Faber Music and Fontana Records commissioned this Premium clothbound book celebrating ten years of AURORA’s debut album, the brief was clear: the book needed to feel personal, authentic, and beautifully made.
Curated by AURORA herself, the publication draws from early notebooks, sketches, reflections, lyrics, and photography.
Technical Challenges and Solutions
The main pages used cream FSC™ 140gsm paper. Cream uncoated stock softens contrast, adds warmth, and preserves the feel of handwriting and sketches. Printing 4/4 colour on uncoated paper required careful ink control to retain detail and depth. A subtle machine varnish finished the surface for protection and stability.

The Real Cloth cover adds tactile quality. Combined with 3.0 mm boards and no padding, it feels clean and modern. The rounded and backed spine improves durability and handling, while section sewn binding ensures pages open smoothly. Beige head and tail bands add a finishing touch.
Three-foil stamping on cloth presented a precise challenge. Fabric texture affects transfer, and each foil reacts differently to heat and pressure. Careful tooling and press calibration ensured crisp detailing, stable adhesion, accurate registration, and surface integrity.

When Book Production supports a creative vision
Illustrated music titles sit in a unique space. They are books, but they are also collectable objects. For Faber Music, this project was about translating AURORA’s creative world into a physical form that feels natural, cohesive, and enduring.
