The Advanced Toy Safety for Publishing Course is a one-day workshop for experienced production and publishing professionals responsible for product safety and compliance. Building on our introductory level course Understanding Toy Safety for Publishing, it focuses on the Safety Assessment process required under the European Toy Safety Directive, helping participants confidently identify hazards, manage risk, and complete the technical documentation needed to ensure safer products, reduce the risk of recalls, and protect brand reputation.
Through a practical workshop, the course teaches how to carry out Safety Assessments and build Technical Files by exploring foreseeable use, identifying hazards, and encouraging shared learning.

Diane has worked in the area of children’s product safety for over thirty-five years as a test laboratory manager, hazard and risk assessor, and latterly as an independent consultant to the retail and publishing sectors. Diane sits as an independent expert on several of the Standards Committees. Her technical knowledge and common sense approach enable her to deliver this often daunting subject in a lively and reassuring way.
