Imago, the leading international print production services company, are seeking to recruit a Sales and Production Controller.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and meticulous attention to detail.  In return, we offer an excellent training provision, a competitive salary, and a benefits package, working from beautiful offices in idyllic country surroundings near Oxford.

This exciting and varied role requires the ideal candidate to have at least 1 – 2 years’ experience as a Production Controller with a desire to grow their book production knowledge and develop customer care skills.

Not only do we print books, but we deal with many other products including jigsaws, board games, calendars, and plush toys. This is a role that can be different every day depending on the type of product you are dealing with at the time.

Experience required:

  • 4 colour printing and knowledge of pre-press
  • Managing the production of a varied list of books and other products
  • Responsibility for costing, scheduling, production and delivery
  • Good customer service skills for communicating with customers who have very different requirements
  • Although many businesses rely on emails to converse with clients, we also expect you to have a great telephone manner and not be afraid of picking up the phone to talk to clients. On-site visits to clients are also part of the role along with attendance at book fairs and other book events throughout the year.
  • You will also be expected to liaise with our supplier teams in China and Europe

  • Imaginative about Production work and ways to approach it
  • Able to cope with busy workload & adapt to changing demands over the course of the working day.
  • Previous experience with novelty books or sourcing is an advantage.
